Fortnite and Street Fighter collide again: Cammy and Guile skin impressions
By Andrew Lin
The Fortnite and Street Fighter collab goes into Round 2, this time bringing fan favorites Cammy and Guile to join Ryu and Chun-Li. Here’s what you can expect when these skins when they drop on August 8.
Fortnite and Street Fighter collide again: Cammy and Guile skin impressions
Cammy Fortnite Skin
Each outfit brings an extra style and some associated cosmetics. The Cammy Fortnite skin has her classic outfit, and another Tactical style that looks more, well, tactical. She comes with the Borealis Back Bling and gets a built-in emote.
Guile Fortnite Skin
Guile has his classic look, and another Glistening style with a black tank-top, shorts and shades. The Back Bling on Guile is the iconic letters K.O. from Street Fighter, and it wouldn’t be Guile with a built-in emote where he combs his glorious flat top. The Back Bling is actually reactive, changing colors when taking or dealing damage and getting kills.
If you get the bundle, you’ll get a loading screen featuring both Cammy and Guile.
For other accessories, there’s another bundle that has their Harvesting Tools and a glider that’s shared for the two of them.
For pricing, it’s safe to assume they’ll follow the same pricing model used for Ryu and Chun-Li. The first two Street Fighter skins cost 1,600 V-Bucks each, and the bundle cost 2,200 V-Bucks. I estimate the Harvesting Tools to cost 800 V-Bucks.
The skins look great, especially if you’re a fan of the characters. I used to main Charlie in Street Fighter Alpha 3 in the arcade (back when those existed) and Guile in Street Fighter 4, so I’m beyond excited to see Guile in Fortnite. Though I must say, his hair looks like a side of fries in Fortnite and I wish his eyes were more aggressive like they are in the games, especially in Street Fighter 2.
The first Street Fighter collab was somewhat strange, since we don’t associate Ryu and Chun-Li with firearms. This second round makes a little more sense, since Guile and Cammy are canonically military operatives.
The only thing that could make this collab sweeter is if Guile’s Theme was a lobby track.
