A weekly update has been released and one of the games most popular guns will be added to the vault. Meanwhile, a new suppressed weapon has been introduced.

Fortnite Battle Royale’s META continues to change throughout the season. From the double pump, to pump/tactical SMG, to heavy shotguns/drum gun, the list goes on and will include other combinations in the future.

Recently, the revolver found its way into the vault like the tactical SMG before it. The revolver packed one hell of a punch — if you managed to land a shot with its random projectile. I’ve had a few headshots with this gun in my day.

It’ll be missed. Now, with the amount of suppressed weapons in the game, the addition of the latest weapon should not be a surprise. As listed in the v5.40 Content Update via EpicGames.com, Fortnite Battle Royale will now have a suppressed assault rifle in the mix.

Of course, like the SCAR, the new weapon drops in epic and legendary variants. Truthfully, this could end up being one of the most overpowered guns in the game. Mentioned in the patch notes, precision is rewarded at rapid fire while doing 32/33 damage per shot.

Every other suppressed weapon on the Island does very little damage when used in long distance combat. This new weapon is going to melt not only any player in its path but the structures around it as well.

Which will make it easier for those who struggle when it comes to which weapon they’d prefer to use as their primary. Suppressed guns have been heavily favored as of late, leaving regular bursts and M16’s in the rearview mirror.

Additional Notes

The limited game mode, “The Getaway”, has been all I’ve played recently. Dropping into matches hunting other players looking to get a quick and easy victory royale has been very satisfying.

Although, I didn’t really care for the game mode changing to duos for about a day or two. What I did notice were the glitches once a game had been won. Models were glitching through the bottom of an escape van, hanging by their heads or dropping to the ground.

Before the patch went live, falling from the van is exactly what happened to me. Thankfully, because I ended up getting sniped by someone who was camping a building in Tilted Towers.

So, these issues were fixed along with a reduction in music at the end of a match.

Save The World

New Horde challenges have been added to the game, allowing players to earn Field Agent Rio upon their first completion of the challenges. With no shields, players will square off against waves of assassin Husks.

Like the Battle Royale mode, players in Save The World will have the opportunity at using the newly introduced suppressed assault rifle as well.
