First Person rumored to arrive in Fortnite’s Chapter 4, Season 2

First Person mode has long been rumored & it may be arriving in Fortnite Chapter 4, Season 2.
Fortnite Chapter 4, Season 2 is looking to make big changes to the game. Not only is the new Battle Pass featuring Attack on Titan’s Eren Yeager, but the majority of the game’s armory is looking like it’s going to be swapped out, including, much to our dismay, the Shockwave Hammer. This is a pretty big deal to many but it may not even be the biggest piece of news to hit the game.
Numerous leakers and insiders have revealed that the long-awaited First Person mode is actually going to debut in Fortnite’s Chapter 4, Season 2 launch. The mode will allow players to toggle between first-person and third-person, with the intention to utilize VR more with the game.
First Person mode and the new creative options have long been rumored, and while the new creator studio has yet to make its official debut, despite being promised months ago, it would appear that First Person is in fact ready.
First Person mode is fine, but don’t make it standard
Why anyone would want First Person mode in Fortnite is beyond me. It limits the control of the camera, reduces the visual range, and limits what a player can do in a given game. If it’s your cup of tea, great, but there’s going to be a learning curve, and no matter how good you get at it, it’ll always be limited.
Fortnite needs to realize that while a cool gimmick to bring VR users into the game, it’s just that, a gimmick.
Fortnite should not make it standard and should show players how to switch over to it if they want to. Fans, like myself, who don’t want to play in first-person mode, shouldn’t have to figure out how to toggle in and out of it if we don’t intend on using it.
Knowing Fortnite, however, it’ll likely be a situation where the mode gets taken down a few weeks into the season due to “bugs”.
