Fortnite’s Chapter 4, Season 1 has a new end date.

Fortnite Chapter 4, Season 1 has been one of the better seasons to date in Fortnite’s brief (but also long) history. It shook up the game’s core features, introduced a slew of new, undeniably great weapons, and has had a few crossovers that have taken the sting out of the past attempts to improve the game’s perception.

To say that the game’s next season has lofty expectations for it would be an understatement. It’s going to be huge, dare I say near impossible task to live up to what season one has given fans. Chapter 4’s next season has got to be a banger, that slaps, as the kids say. And apparently, the dev team feels the next season is going to be as good as ever. Or they know there’s no way to make it any better, either or. Why is that? Well, the dev team has moved up the release date of the next season.

The season was supposed to end on March 10, 2023, but will now end on March 8, 2023. Moving from a Friday to a Wednesday. Either the next season is already better than the first, or the dev team has accepted defeat in trying to be better than season one, otherwise, they would delay the season, not rush it.

There may be a reason why Fortnite moved the dates

The end of a season usually doesn’t feature as long of downtime as the end of a chapter does. It’s likely, especially without there being any type of live event to close things out, that the folks at Fortnite don’t expect a long downtime.

This means they want to be up and running full steam by Friday. Why rush for fully fleshed-out Friday offerings? There’s more than likely something big coming with the new season and they want the players, namely the younger ones, to be able to play all weekend to help goose the stats.
