Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is coming, does that mean more Spider-Man crossovers?

Fortnite will never skip an opportunity to do a crossover with a major motion picture. Especially a Marvel crossover. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is due out in June of 2023, June 3 to be exact and that means that Fortnite may very well be planning yet another Spider-Man crossover nearly 18 months to the day of the last one.

The last one was part of the No Way Home movie, and in that crossover, we got Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Mary Jane Watson from the film as well as other variants of those characters.

It seems likely that if there is another crossover with the upcoming Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse film, we won’t just get one or two characters either. It’s likely we get several, maybe even four or more of just various Spider-Men.  That’s just speculation of course, but if recent trends are any indication, it seems very likely that it’ll be happening.

It makes even more sense to do a crossover, as Miles Morales, another Spider-Man is a hotly desired costume that has yet to come to Fortnite and this may be the most likely time that people can get it.

There may be one hangup for a Fortnite/Spider-Man crossover

Spider-Man films, for a long time, was produced by Sony Pictures and due to that, Marvel didn’t really put the full backing behind arguably their most iconic character. Now with the working relationship between Sony and Marvel, and the popularity of the Spider-Man franchises, it seems likely that Fortnite would partner up with the Into the Spider-Verse sequel. There’s just one issue.

While Marvel and Sony are playing nice, they may not be playing nice enough. It’s very possible that Marvel blocks any opportunity that Sony has to do a crossover. It’s just speculation but you don’t see much, if any merchandise at all for the first Morales Spider-Man film, so it makes sense that a sequel would see the same level of merch and crossover appearances as the first.
