The new Giannis Antetokounmpo Icon Series is among the best yet

One of the best NBA players of his generation is finally in Fortnite. After weeks of hinting and hearing rumors regarding of Giannis Antetokounmpo’s arrival in Fortnite, the former two-time NBA MVP and former NBA Champion has dropped in Fortnite. And his designs are amazing.

You have his basic look, which has several variants. It’s marked by a long coat with no sleeves. It’s very futuristic in a lot of ways. Then you have several variants with different designs on the coat. The original coat is green and white, which are the colors of Antetokounmpo’s team, the Milwaukee Bucks, as well as his parent’s home country of origin, Nigeria.

That’s the base color for four of these.

He has a second look that’s called the Hoplite Giannis, and this is where things get fantastic. Having been born in Greece, and learning to play basketball there, Fortnite and Antetokounmpo came up with a great way to honor his Greek heritage by giving him a Hoplite-inspired look. It’s black and gold and has three helmet/crown variants to rock with.

The designs by Fortnite need to follow one of two ideas for it to be great; either be extremely wild and goofy, like Guff or be over the top and brutal like Doom Guy. Seeing Antetokounmpo with this killer-looking Hoplite getup is impressive as heck.

You really feel like a soldier looking like that, and it’s pure intimidation to boot. If you can only purchase one, get the Hoplite Giannis to look; that one will age better in time.
