Fortnite trolling fans with the constant skateboard references is messed up

Fortnite refuses to give fans in-game skateboards but they’re everywhere else.

Let’s go back to the summer of 2022 real fast. It’s No Sweat Summer and it’s the summer of Vibin’. It’s all fun, games, floating concert stages, and skateboard parks. The hype was real. Everyone was coming down from a really good Chapter 3, Season 2, with a killer live event that gave us the best moment of all time with Peely saving the day.

So Fortnite was really setting itself up for a nice Season 3, and the leak of skateboards coming to the game took over the internet. Then the staff went on vacation and said “screw it”. Players never got their skateboards in-game and now the folks at Epic Games and Fortnite won’t let us forget it.

So far this month alone, we found that Fortnite is releasing real skateboards with select characters adorning them, and we also saw those same designs in the Winterfest Cabin, serving as one big, ultimate, troll job.

Really freaking funny.

Fortnite has got to stop trolling fans if they want players to stick around

Fortnite is seeing fans leave the game in the millions almost monthly at this rate. That’s partly because of these failed gimmicks like No Sweat Summer, and the almost belligerent desire to troll fans after things don’t happen as expected.

Going on vacation is one thing. Removing an update and never delivering on it despite hyping it covertly for weeks? That’s just mean.

Fans are picking up on it, and it’d be one thing if it was scrapped entirely and there was nothing else to say about it, but that’s not happening. No, fans are almost daily being forcibly reminded of what they can not have.

Sure, we can buy real-life skateboards and whatnot, but that’s not the same thing as being able to use them in-game. We certainly don’t need to use Fortnite-branded skateboards to enjoy ourselves, we could buy some actually well-made ones.

Yet, no one else can put them in Fortnite, besides Epic. So it’d be great to see the devs actually step up and deliver.
