Fortnite is making players pay $299 for the Huntmaster Saber outfit

Want Huntmastersaber? That’ll be $299 please, but don’t worry, you get an Xbox with it.

To paraphrase Lloyd Christmas, just when I think Fortnite couldn’t possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this…and totally prove us right. Fortnite lost a huge amount of fans in 2022, specifically during the No Sweat Summer event. So it’s not surprising at all that they would triple down on their bad decision-making and make one of the most anticipated outfits of the year, Huntmaster Saber exclusive to not only the Xbox Series S, but to the price of $299.

Plus tax.

The new “Gilded Hunter” bundle will be out on Nov. 29, 2022, and will include three games, that are all free to play. That’s right, for $299, you get a near-obsolete console, three free games, and an outfit that players would pay a whole $7 for. Yippie.

Talk about a jiff.

So the Gilded Hunter bundle isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, but clearly, you get more than just Huntmaster Saber, right? Well, no. What all comes in the bundle? Well, basically it’s a bunch of free, but mostly inexpensive cosmetics across three games, including Rocket League, Fall Guys, and of course, Fortnite

It’s nice that the bundle is giving away some free cosmetics, that’s not the issue. The issue is that these free cosmetics, namely the highly coveted Huntmaster Saber outfit, are behind a specific console paywall that most players can’t afford to waste money on, and don’t want to hop their port of entry to do so.
