Fans of Fortnite may want to watch the 2022 Video Game Awards.
Fortnite is going to be looking to take home some hardware at the 2022 Video Game Awards. Maybe the largest awards in all of video games at the moment, the VGA’s host some of the biggest, brightest, and best developers and brands on a yearly basis. The games they deem are the best get nominated, then fans (10%) and a panel (90%) vote to see who wins.
It’s not at all surprising to know that the more popular a game is, and the bigger the developer is, the more likely they are to win. That’s just how it works. So if you’re a Fortnite fan and you saw they got nominated for two awards, don’t fret, they’re likely to win both.
Fortnite has been nominated for the Best Ongoing Game, which is given to the most outstanding development of a game that centers around an evolving experience. So basically anything online.
They’re also up for the Community Support Award, which is the award that goes to the game for “outstanding community support, transparency, and responsiveness.” So, does Fortnite have a chance to win either award?
Fortnite should sweep the awards they’re nominated for
It’s hard to imagine that the game won’t be able to take both awards they’re up for. They’re not a bad outfit by any means. Fortnite constantly uploads new content every few weeks, and while they’ve angered some diehard fans with their lack of followthrough on the summer and winter events, they’ve made sure to nail it with the 2021 Christmas season events and both of the last two Halloween events.
As far as Community Support, save for the game not explaining why certain features were never added, they do a great job of keeping fans up to date with what’s going on. It makes sense that they’d end up winning both awards.
If they didn’t, that’d be fine, it’s not like there aren’t other quality options, but Fortnite is certainly deserving of it.
