Can we be done with the Star Wars crossovers for a while?

It’s time to take a break from all the Star Wars silliness.

Star Wars is back in Fortnite after being gone for just a handful of weeks. They’ve come and gone throughout the years but Fortnite just did a months-long crossover with the Disney brand for the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ show, and after that ended, Fortnite brought in Darth Vader as part of last season’s Battle Pass, and as a boss.

Well, with Halloween now in the rearview mirror and Fortnitemares being a thing of the not-too-distant past, Fortnite has decided now is a good time to bring in Star Wars and all sorts of Star Wars accessories. Again, just weeks after getting rid of them. Never mind that fans are eagerly waiting for the return of planes to the game, no, we’re stuck with more overpowered Star Wars stuff.

The game brought in Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Han Solo as purchasables for at least the next week, and while they look great, we’re getting all Star Wars-out.

The lightsabers and blasters are overpowered and just not fun

To say the game is getting tedious with all the lightsabers and blasters would be an understatement. The game has divulged into players who spam both the blasters and lightsaber attacks.

The worst part about the lightsabers is the players who get on wolves or bores and ride around swinging with impunity. There is no natural cooldown for such actions, so the lightsabers become even more overpowered than they already were.

The crossover is tired and while it may be a money maker, it’s getting to the point where they have to try something new and never before seen.

While the gimmick is overplayed, the Junk Rifts have been unvalted and now they can dispense landspeeders to crush your opponents. So at least that’s pretty cool.
