The Boogey Bomb is about to leave Fortnite and we’re glad

Fortnite is finally getting rid of the Boogey Bomb.

Fortnite has done a great job creating some great throwable items. The shockwave grenades, the impulse grenades, the Chug splashes, and so many other things. My personal favorites are the shockwave grenades and the firefly bottles. My least favorite? The Boogey Bomb.

The Boogey Bomb is a throwable item, best used for getting away from an active area. If you’re low on ammo, low on health, or have too many people around you, throwing one of these will cause every player in a small radius to drop what they were doing and, well, boogying.

For a short duration, anyone afflicted by the Boogey Bomb will be unable to do anything but move and dance away at a rather mild pace. You can’t fight, can’t build, cant’ throw anything. You’re a slave to the music.

I’m not one for ducking and running, I’d much rather carry items that help me eliminates opponents, not just run away and the Boogey Bombs aren’t great for that, because players can still jump and run away. Locking them in place is a much more advantageous situation. So since they’re rather useless as an offensive item, it makes me happy to say they’re getting rid of the item.

Boogey Bombs are being taken out of Fortnite

The Vibin summer concept saw the items return to the game, with the Boogey Bombs fitting the tone of the season. That tone was bright colors, fun summer-themed activities, dancing, music, and disappointment. So yes, they did in fact the tone of the season pretty well.

Their departure is soon, should be by the next update the game gets in a few weeks, so if you’re actually a fan of these lackluster items, you better use them while you can.
