Fortnite may be asking players to rip and tear until it’s done soon enough.

We can all agree that Chapter 3, Season 3: Vibin was a letdown and that No Sweat Summer was among the worst events in the history of the game. We know that players left in masse due to the poorly executed summer events, nearly 2+ million in total. Sure, Dragon Ball brought back a lot, and Destiny 2 and Patrick Mahomes helped a bit, but Fortnite needs to do more to help get their base back for Chapter 3, Season 4.

If you’re facing huge odds, in a do-or-die situation, why not call the one man who can repel anything; even the forces of hell? That’s right, a new rumor has, of all players, Doom Guy coming into the world of Fortnite for the next season.

Doom Guy is the name given to the main character of the iconic first-person shooter, Doom, and the character has gone from cult icon to major badass since the Doom remake in 2016. With the new level that Doom has ascended to over the last six years, the arrival of Doom Guy will really help bolster the fanbase’s desire in not just Fortnite but hopefully a third modern Doom game.

The Halloween season may be huge for Fortnite

With the main character coming in, allegedly, in the next week or so, he’ll start off an autumn season that is expected to see huge names in horror come in. While some may not consider Doom a typical horror game, it certainly is a horror-adjacent game, and Doom Guy isn’t coming in alone.

Other rumors indicate that The Resident Evil franchise is going to be brought back in, presumably with two new characters added to the lineup. Another rumor seems to suggest that the zombie slayers aren’t the only ones coming in, with Freddy Kruger expected to be added to the game as well.

If that’s true, then Fortnite fans who are a bit more fond of the macabre are going to have a fun fall.
