Fortnite fans can now play a Destiny 2-inspired space called Javelin-4.

Destiny 2 has come to Fortnite at the same time as Dragon Ball, and despite Dragon Ball being the most popular crossover ever, the Bungie-created game hasn’t been overshadowed. Designed by Bungie, the creators of Halo, Destiny puts you in a world of action and adventure, where you battle it out in team competitions for loot and bragging rights.

Not too dissimilar from what’s going on in the world of Fortnite. The Destiny 2 group has brought in three of their more known characters in Ikora Rey, Commander Zavala, and the Exo Stranger but that’s not all they’ve brought in.

Thanks to Team PWR, Fortnite fans can now hop over to their island to play a Destiny 2-themed map. It’s seemingly a capture the flag style competition, where you have to obtain portions of the map. It’s not made clear in the trailer if you have to control the whole map or if there’s a time limit, where you win by owning the majority of the map.

Why is the map called the Guardian Zone Control: Javelin-4?

If you’re new to Destiny, as I am, you may knot know why the map is called the Guardian Zone Control: Javelin-4. Well, we did a little research, and here’s what we found. Guardians, or The Guardians, are the player-controlled characters from the franchise. According to the game’s Wiki Fandom, the characters are resurrected corpses;

"They are resurrected corpses of the Golden Age brought back to life by the Traveler’s Light carried by a Ghost, an artificially intelligent flying robot that can assist the Guardian in tactical situations"

So clearly the first part of the map references territory the good guys of Destiny control in the game. But what is the Javelin-4?

If you thought maybe it was a ship, you’re not alone, but like us here at Fortnite Forever, we found out that’s not the case, and the Javelin-4 is a map in Destiny 2. It’s one of the more popular maps in the game, which is why it’s the focal point for the Fortnite-created island.
