Patrick Mahomes is in Fortnite but his designs don’t make sense.

Fortnite has revealed a brand new member of its Icon Series and its none other than Super Bowl-winning, MVP-having, trick-passing Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs. Mahomes joins a long list of former Icon athletes and celebrities who have joined the game over the course of its life.

The game recently brought back LeBron James to the franchise, after previously debuting in 2021 as part of the Icon Series. Mahomes continues on the legacy of elite, prime athletes who have shown up in the game now.

Mahomes is among the best players in the NFL and is seen by many as one of the faces of the NFL, along with guys like Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers.

Patrick Mahomes is cool and all but his design is lackluster

The fine folks at Fortnite have given Patrick Mahomes a “gladiator” look for his design. In his first design, he’s wearing a red hoody with his signature “PM” logo on his chest, while rocking athletic pants and sneakers. His right arm is in a sleeve, which makes sense, as he’s a right-handed passing quarterback.

Solid enough.

His second look is very much the same as his first, but now his sleeve is now more armored than previously, he also has a front pocket on his hoody as well. He now also has a sort of bandana around his forehead, and he’s rocking sunglasses straight out of the 1980s.

His third look is the more curious one, as all of his additions in the second look have been ramped up even more in the third. His right arm is now completely covered in armor, with a single shin-pad on his left leg, and of course, a Spartan-style helmet is now on his head.

This wouldn’t be so odd if he wasn’t a player on the Kansas City Chiefs. Not exactly a sports team known for their Mediterranian armor.
