No Sweat Summer to bring skating into Fortnite.

Fans of Fortnite are getting ready for the next summer event, this time called No Sweat Summer. The series is known for its annual events and this time around is no different. Not only are fans already a part of the fun with the Chapter 3, Season 3 event entitled Vibin but now fans are going to be able to get some fun new ways to move around the island.

There was a time when fans of the series just had to run everywhere like plebs. Then the shopping card appeared and life changed forever for the folks at Fortnite. Now cars, boats, four-wheelers, and even helicopters have been part of the action. So, what new mode of transport is being added to the game for the summer series?

Skating, of course.

The skating mechanic has already been found by several data miners and it looks interesting enough but until we see it in-game, there’s really nothing to go on right now as far as how it’ll work when a player needs to get away from enemies.

Skating in Fortnite is a huge get for fans of a certain age

I grew up in a time when Andy “Brink” Brinker brought the Pup and Suds magic into our homes via the Disney Channel. Skating was a huge part of the typical 90s childhood, and while it isn’t as popular as it once was, it’s still a very fun way to get around.

The new mechanic will also be joined by a skating park, so if you want to try getting some sick tricks in, you’ll probably be able to. Though don’t expect the new mechanic to be anything like Aggressive Inline or Jet Set Radio.

All in all, I’m excited about the new mechanic and I hope that Fortnite delivers.
