The Fortnite servers went down on Wednesday leaving players high and dry.
Fortnite is a wonderful game, but sometimes it’s hindered by the fact that it’s only for online. If you have a game that can only be played online, then you’re left at the mercy of a number of things. Like having power, a working system or computer, having internet and having working servers you can access.
Back in the day, you only needed power and a console to play a game. Those days are sadly becoming less and less prevalent. There just aren’t that many single-player experiences anymore. So when a game like Fortnite loses access to its servers, fans are left in a lurch.
This never happened with Golden Eye 64; just saying.
This latest service outage is the first since February, and players were stuck on the login page, getting error messages. The issue seemed to be resolved around 6 PM ET, but what happens next time and there will be a next time?
Five things to do when the next Fortnite outage happens
1. Identify a new species of mushroom
I mean, there aren’t that many, right? The grey ones, the ones from Mario, the ones you’re not supposed to eat…So yeah, find a fourth mushroom and name it whatever you want.
2. Make twice-baked Cheeta covered stromboli
Don’t consult your cardiologist before attempting* Or do, I’m not your healthcare provider.
3. Solve world hunger
I mean, now that Fortnite is down for a few hours, we should have time, right? How long could it take?
4. Meet your dopleganger
Appareantly everyone has one. I hope mine is nice and doesn’t try to throw me into the Upside Down or some place spooky.
5. Read a book
Or not, I’m not your teacher.
