No Sweat Summer gives Fortnite fans the chance to enjoy the season in doors

Fortnite introduces No Sweat Summer for fans.

Summer is all about enjoying the sun, the heat, the sand, and the outdoors. As a staunch supporter of the winter, I’m not a fan, though I’m told it’s quite a popular time of the year. Me, I prefer weather where polar bears are sledding and drinking unhealthy soft drinks. That’s just me though.

If you’re a fan of summer though, you may find yourself in a place where you want to immerse yourself in all things summer. Where you can enjoy the outdoors indoor and the indoors outdoor. That’s where Fortnite comes in. After all, if you have a Switch (and portable wireless), you can take the game to the beach or bring the beach into the game.

In fact, Fortnite wants you to do just that; but preferably not at the beach. Sand, you know. It’s not good for electronics. But if you’re creative, Fortnite has a new summer contest for you to enter. It’s called the No Sweat Summer and you can enter your own summer-themed island to possibly have shown off in Discover.

According to Fortnite;

"No-Sweat Summer means chill, relaxed fun summer vibes – think water parks, fishing contests, camping, and adventures, not high-intensity combat."

What are the rules for Fortnite’s No Sweat Summer

The basic gist of any new island is to be summer themed with loads to do. The island should be new-player friendly and utilize stuff released in the last year, like the water device, surfboards, prop manipulator, and other items.

Another set of things to consider is the newer mechanics, like the sliding, sprinting, and mantling mechanics introduced over the last few months. A parkour summer wonderland will likely get your island picked.

Here are the official criterias from Fortnite.com;

"Callout Criteria Only one island per creator will be accepted.Make sure your island is on theme. Make sure your island follows the summer No Sweat theme e.g. Platformers, Deathruns, Racing, Prop Hunt, Social Deduction, etc. No combat islands.We’re looking for high-quality experiences. Fully functional islands that use devices well, set effective boundaries, and are highly polished make for a better player experience and they make your island more likely to be featured.Prioritize innovation and the use of newer devices.Boundary pushing and never-before-seen designs will certainly grab our attention.Each submission requires a video overview. Submission videos must show a fly-through of the entire island as well as one round of gameplay.Submissions must be new Islands. Any island considered for featuring must be a brand new creation published during the callout period.Promotional trailers are encouraged. Including a captivating promotional trailer for your island is not required but highly encouraged. Submission overview videos are, however, required.How to ParticipateSubmit your summer-themed islands through the Creative Content submission form, making sure to select the drop-down option for No Sweat Summer callout. Submissions must be submitted before 11:59 PM ET, July 12th."
