Fortnite has brought in some new toys to use in Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3.

Fortnite updated their game with Chapter 3, Season 3 and now everyone is Vibin to the summer theme. While the map was updated, with key POIs being replaced (CAMP CUDDLE COME BACK) and new non-playable characters appearing on the island, things have changed but none more so than the arsenal of the game.

The folks at Fortnite removed a good chunk of the weapons used in-game over the last season+ and brought in some new ones to replace them, at least momentarily. Sure, some of the classics are still there, but the focus of the new season is these brand new weapon types.

So how do they play? Well, we’re going to look at that very thing today, as we’re ranking the new weapons for Fortnite’s summer Vibin season.

Ranking Chapter 3, Season 3’s new weapons

3. Two Shot Shotgun

Getting the Two Shot Shotgun after nearly two full seasons with the drum shotgun is like going from chocolate pudding that’s actually good for you to vegetables that have had all the taste and nutrients boiled out of them. The two-shot shotgun is fine but it’s a bit slow and if you don’t land that first shot you may find yourself looking for another weapon to go with.

2. Hammer Assault Rifle

The recoil on the Hammer Assault Rifle is a bit iffy but if you compensate for it correctly, it’s an accurate shot; at least at mid-range. That’s more than you can say for the ranger assault rifle and its wonky sight.

1.  Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR)

The best of the new batch of goodies is the DMR, which gives you crazy good accuracy and a whopping punch for a rifle. It’s one of the easier ranged weapons to use and a real treat to play with.
