Fortnite is letting players turn their enemies into Indiana Jones with new boulder mechanic

Fortnite is going all-in on the Indiana Jones of it all.

Indiana Jones is the secret unlockable character for Chapter 3, Season 3, and Fortnite is going to go all-in on getting fans hyped for this character. Not only was his character model scene in the trailers for Chapter 3, Season 3’s Vibin, but his addition has long been known and quietly hyped for some time.

Fortnite knows fans are excited to get their hands on one of Harrison Ford’s most iconic characters. So not only are they opening up caves to explore, they’re also keeping the mysterious temples in the northeast part of the island. That’s not all though.

Nope, fans of Fortnite have undoubtedly seen the new boulders popping up on the map. If you take your pick ax to them, you can break them free and watch them roll. The best part is that you can use these to not only attack opposing players, but you can use them to basically destroy anything in front of you.

While the boulders do have a health bar and can only take so much damage, get one properly lined up, and not only could you presumably take out a player, but the entire structure they’re in as well.

I have, admittedly, not been the biggest fan of the changes to the island for this season, but more on that in a different article. I like the colors, the vibe (or Vibin), and general summer vibes but the new fungus tree isn’t my cup of tea.

That said, I do like the addition of these boulders and the chaos that can be done with them. I feel like Fortnite should be doing less nerfing of objects and more over-powering and these boulders feel over-powered.

I dig that.
