Fortnite should allow players to use gold bars to buy outfits

Fortnite is long known for its use of gold bars in-game but it’s time to do more for fans.

If you’ve played Fortnite for any length of time, you know all about gold bars. They’re largely useless in-game, being used to allow players to vote on matchups, buy things from vending machines, upgrade weapons, and also to tip the bus driver.

The thing is, the gold bars are useless, as none of these items need to be purchased in theory. So you could go the entire game without ever using them. You could go the entire season without ever using them. Considering the game caps you after a few thousand, and the game resets them after each season, it makes me wonder why we even bother with these things.

Frankly, they’re rather useless and fans would be better off not even dealing with the hassle of collecting them in the first place, but Fortnite could change all of that if they just made gold bars something you could transfer.

Fortnite should allow gold bars to be transferable into V-Bucks

Fortnite is a free-to-play game, and it survives and thrives on its use of V-Bucks, the in-game currency of Fortnite. People can purchase V-Bucks with real money, allowing them the ability to buy in-game outfits for their avatar.

The starting rate is $7.99 USD for 1,000 V-Bucks. That’s usually enough for a single outfit or a discounted bundle.

Fortnite would be wise to remove the gold bar cap and allow fans the ability to transfer the number of gold bars at the end of the season into a corresponding amount of V-Bucks. If a player ends the season with 14,000 gold bars, give them 700 V-Bucks. You don’t need to get nuts here, no one is asking that Fortnite not make a profit, but the game can easily give away one free skin per user if they put in enough game time during the season.

Allowing the gold bars to go a transfer of V-Bucks so they can cosmetics would be a huge “thank you” from the developers to the fanbase and a change that I think a lot of people would love.
