Wu-Tang crossing over with Fortnite is one no one saw coming
By Chad Porto
Fortnite and the iconic Wu-Tang Clan rap group are partnering up.
Who saw this one coming? Not me, that’s for sure. Practically from out of nowhere, the folks at Epic Games and Fortnite have agreed to a crossover promotion with the iconic rap group, the Wu-Tang Clan. The group became famous around the turn of the century and was headed by names many would know, like GZA, U-God, Ghostface Killah, the departed Ol Dirty Bastard, and Red Man.
Arguably the biggest name from the ground is RZA, who crossed over to the mainstream and had turns on shows like Californication and eventually with his own film, The Man With the Iron Fists. RZA starred in that film alongside Russell Crowe, MMA legend Cung Le, Lucy Liu, Jamie Chung, and Dave Bautista.
It’s a throwback that older fans of the series may want to get their hands on. While Fortnite is an all-ages game, it should be noted that the Wu-Tang Clan are for mature audiences, so if you’re on the younger side, or have kids on the younger side, it might be best to consult with your parents before letting your kids sample their music.
What comes in the Wu-Tang Clan set?
The Wu-Tang set will feature two character designs to get. The first is the ThrowBack BG Outfit. It comes with WUWEAR Worldwide Back Bling and the Neck Protector Pickaxe. Both items are reactive to music and come with a Ruckus Red alt style as well.
The second character to be available is the B.R.I.T.E. Outfit. This outfit comes with Wu-Tang Represent Back Bling, which like the other design, is reactive to music. It also comes with a Triumphant Tagger Pickaxe. What’s cool about this pickaxe is that it creates a paint trail as you swing it. As with the previous design, this comes with the Ruckus Red alt style too.
