How does the the Heavy Sniper play in Chapter 3, Season 2
By Chad Porto
The Heavy Sniper has returned to Fortnite.
Fortnite fans everywhere got a treat this season with the return of the Heavy Sniper. The weapon had been vaulted for some time by the folks at Epic Games, but it was brought back for Chapter 3, Season 2 as part of the game’s new ongoing war arch with the Imagined Order and The Seven.
The arc has seen a lot of things return, and a lot of things leave but few thought the heavy-duty sniper rifle would reappear anytime soon.
The weapon was known for its ability to basically one-hit a player into elimination, dealing 198 points of damage to players. This version of the Heavy Sniper rifle is a bit less powerful, only dealing 192 points, and while it’s still quite a bit, it’s also super annoying that it was reduced at all.
All that said, now that I’ve gotten my hands on it, how does it play?
How does the Heavy Sniper play in Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2?
In a word; fantastically. The weapon is still insanely powerful and a better option than the Bolt Action Sniper Rifle that is in the game. That doesn’t mean it’s perfect, however as there are some pros and cons to it.
The Pros:
- Stopping Power
- Damage to vehicles
- Easy to use
The weapon is still a gift from the combat gods. It can eliminate just about anyone who doesn’t have maxed-out health. It’s easy to use, and you don’t have to be pinpoint accurate, there is some room for movement but not much. It’s also crazy useful when shooting at vehicles and buildings, but why would you want to?
The Cons:
- One-shot per
- Hard to find
It’s not a very easy-to-find weapon, and once you use it, you have to re-load it. It’s only got one shot per clip, so you’re going to be reloading a lot.
Verdict:
If you’re a range player like me, get your rands on this if you can get it.
