Spider-Man’s Web Shooters are now live in Fortnite. They’ll grant you the ability to swing around the map like Spider-Man himself, but only if you can find them and figure out how they work. Here are five tips and tricks to make the most of Spider-Man’s Web Shooters in Fortnite.

Fortnite: Spider-Man’s Web Shooters – 5 Tips and Tricks you need to know

1- That’s a lot of backpacks

Peter Parker is known to stash his costume and gear in backpacks hidden in plain sight around the city, and his Web Shooters are hidden the same way. You may have seen large spider webs around the new island, even away from The Daily Bugle. Sometimes you’ll be able to find smaller webs nearby, with a backpack stuck to them.

Approach these backpacks and loot them to find healing items. You’ll also most likely find Spider-Man’s Web Shooters, but it’s not guaranteed. There’s no set location to find them; they can appear all over the island. It will be tough to seek them out, so be sure to investigate any webs you come across and you’ll find them soon enough.

2- With no power

This Mythic item isn’t a weapon. You can’t ensnare enemies or even do damage to them with the Web Shooters. It’s not in Spider-Man’s M.O. to kill, but that doesn’t mean you can’t use these as a lethal tool.

Keep a strong close-range weapon ready. With the Web Shooters, close the distance and surprise your enemies before switching to an SMG or Shotgun. Otherwise, it’s best to use the Web Shooters as a traversal tool to quicken your rotations.

3- Simple geometry

The Web Shooters feel like a Plunger Gun with double the range. You’ll still need to aim where you want to go, but unlike the Plunger Gun you’ll swing below where your web connects. This makes it difficult to land where you aim, so you’ll have to use another point of your environment to get there.

Some biomes may be more difficult to use the Web Shooters in. They’re strongest when there’s lots of structures or walls to swing from.

4- “Double tap to release”

When you reach the end of your swing, you’ll automatically release and get ready to thwip it out again. If you don’t connect your web to another point, you’ll land and your Web Shooters will go on cool down. It ranges from two to ten seconds, depending on how long you’ve been swinging.

You’ll also be immune to fall damage coming off a web swing.

5- Web refills sold separately

The Web Shooters come in two variants: limited and unlimited. The limited one has 80 ammo, meaning you’ll only be able to swing up to 80 times before you run out of juice. The unlimited version has, well, unlimited webs. You may very well run out of web if you use it liberally, so keep your ammo in mind. You can’t actually reload it, so once you’re out you’re done with the Web Shooters.
