Forever Fortnite Weapon Tier List May 2021
By Andrew Lin
It’s a new month, and that means a new Fortnite weapon tier list. There were a few adjustments and new weapons released in April, so let’s take a look at how they stack up in our Fortnite Weapon Tier list for May 2021.
Forever Fortnite Weapon Tier List May 2021
S-Tier
- Mechanical Bow
- Mechanical Shockwave Bow
- Mechanical Explosive Bow
- Grappler Bow
- Assault Rifle
- Rocket Launcher
Mechanical Bows broke a limit that kept them somewhat in the shadow of Primal Bows. The Primal Bows have extremely useful abilities, but the Rare Mechanical Bow and its upgrades now have the potential to one-shot a fully shielded enemy on a headshot. They now take the place of this season’s Snipers, once again proving that range is supreme in Battle Royale.
The Grappler makes a return as an Exotic Bow, and the unparalleled mobility it offers is still amazing despite the awkwardness of stapling it to a bow.
A-Tier
- Primal Flame Bow
- Primal Stink Bow
- Unstable Bow
- Pump Shotgun
The Epic Primal Bows still have fantastic effects, but are missing the key ability to one-shot someone. You could still achieve this with the Stink cloud or Flame effect, but you’re putting it up to variance.
Speaking of variance, the Unstable Bow can take on the abilities of any of the Epic bow upgrades, but you don’t get to choose.
B-Tier
- Primal Bow
- Primal Shotgun
- Primal SMG
- SMG
- Revolver
- Makeshift Bow
- Makeshift Shotgun
- Makeshift SMG
- Recycler
SMGs have had a good time lately, and have been buffed all around last month. Perhaps this was done to combat the dominance of the Primal Shotgun, which has had a slight fall from grace. It’s more punishing to miss now, and that feeling of invincibility it granted is now gone.
C-Tier
- Primal Assault Rifle
- Makeshift Assault Rifle
Despite some buffs to the Makeshift Assault Rifle’s accuracy, it still doesn’t get the first shot accuracy bonus that makes the Mechanical Assault Rifle great. The same applies to the Primal, as I often find that it fires everywhere except your mark when you need it to.
The Rest
- Primal Pistol
- Makeshift Revolver
The Primal Pistol also got some buffs, but it’s still outclassed by any other close-range weapon.
