Could a change on Fortnite’s Discovery Page be a hint at things to come?

Fortnite has shaken up its Discovery page.

Fortnite has changed up its Discovery page, changing a key concept that may be a sign of things to come. For the last year, when you would enter and decide to change things up by choosing a different mode to play, you would see a new tab called “Recently Released”. These were game modes that were new and popular that the folks at Fortnite tried to suggest fans to play.

It was introduced last May and was supposed to help get creators the opportunity o get their creative modes in front of as many players as possible. Yet, Epic Games, Fortnite’s parent company, have ended the experiment, removing the Recently Released tab from the screen.

Epic claims they removed it because it wasn’t functioning as intended and that older, more popular islands that fans created would end up in that row isntead. Apparently, fans were mad that the maps selected would oftentimes be misleading, so Fortnite followed suit and got rid of the tab. Changes are expected to be forthcoming but the New Combat and New Practice tab aren’t going anywhere yet.

Is this a sign that Creative 2.0 is coming to the game

While this may seem like an odd leap, restructuring the way the navigation screen works would be one of the first things to happen when Creative 2.0 finally does get launched. It’s been delayed several times now, so it could very well be coming with Fortnite Chapter 4, Season 2 in a little more than a month from now, or never. That’s just how Fortnite goes.

The complaints after all aren’t new, so the removal of the dysfunctional tab in Discovery was not just done for the sake of the players. It was likely done as part of a more involved set of changes that are coming to the game.
