Fortnite’s Dead Space collaboration finally has a release date
By Chad Porto
Dead Space is coming to Fortnite.
Fortnite sure is trying to start Chapter 4, Season 1 as best they can. With now half of the first season in the books, it’s been a bit uneven. It’s still one of the best seasons to date, no doubt, but the game has had its fair share of early-season controversies.
From the nerfing of the Shockwave Hammer to the way the new mechanics keep getting disabled and removed temporarily, all the way to some complaints over the look of the Rift Warden Stellan, Fortnite has had its fair share of misses this season.
So it’s not that surprising that Fortnite wants to bring in a major IP into the game as fast as possible, which is why it makes sense for the game to be bringing in the Dead Space crossover as soon as possible as opposed to doing it in October with the next Fortnitemares event.
Fortnite and the Dead Space remake coincide
While any other year it would’ve made more sense to wait until October to release the collaboration with Dead Space, the folks behind the game (EA) have decided to release a remake of the first game. That remake is scheduled to drop on the 27th of January. More than likely right around when the Dead Space cosmetics drop in the Fortnite shop.
Normally, you’d want to stagger horror-themed releases to around September or October to coincide with that time of the year but when you have a major remake coming out, it makes sense to release the cosmetics around that remake release window.
You’ll get the most exposure, the most hype, and the best odds that people will actually want to purchase the items in question.
The Dead Space cosmetics should drop within the next week, so keep your eyes out for them.
