Epic Games boss Donald Mustard hinting at Fortnite’s future

Fortnite is looking at a new horizon apparently.

Fortnite is inching closer and closer to the end of Chapter 3, Season 4, but what comes next is anyone’s guess. Could it be a fifth season in the chapter? Maybe the start of Chapter 4? While that seems rather mad, as Chapter 3 just started in December of 2021, it remains a realistic possibility.

After all, data miners have found what appears to be data for a new island in the game’s code. If that’s the case, then that gives credence to the idea that Fortnite will be getting a brand-new island and therefor, a brand-new chapter.

There’s, even more, to suggest this, as the game is expected to have a two-day downtime after the end of the season. This is usually only done when a new island is being uploaded into the game.

So if that’s the case, then Epic Games CCO Donald Mustard, the head Fortnite boss, may be hinting at just that with his Twitter bio. After all, he has a habit and reputation of revealing the future of the game in very vague ways.

It may seem like nothing more than a new banner, but not with Mustard.

Eclipse season

While I’m not entirely sure what this season would look like, ti bares mentioning that we’ve seen some wild seasons in the past. Maybe the sun is blocked out and the game is darker than normal, limiting the player’s sight. Maybe there’ll be some sort of moonlight mechanic that illuminates the area or teleports players.

New beginnings season

The moon looks to be rising, but what if it’s setting? Maybe the hint is that it’ll be a new day for Fortnite fans, and therefore a brand new island to enjoy. Simple but possible.
