Eminem is now in Fortnite, well, kinda but not really
By Chad Porto
If you were hoping to find Eminem in Fortnite, you’re in luck, but not really.
While controversial, Eminem remains one of the biggest musical stars of the last 25 years, and his impact on music is undeniable. Heck, some rappers are releasing mini novel dis-tracks about him just to get attention. In the world of combat sports, you never call out the super-talented nobody, you call out the top guy.
Eminem is among the top guys in the world of rap. So it’s not that surprising at all that Fortnite would bring Eminem in. However, if you were looking for the iconic Detroit rapper to pop up somewhere in the game as an NCP or in the shop as a playable character costume, you’re sadly out of luck.
No, Eminem is only in Fortnite as a featured artist on a specific radio station. For a brief period of time, you can hear him on the Icon Radio Station.
This may be a hint to something bigger involving Fortnite and Eminem
If you’re thinking this may lead to Fortnite bringing in Eminem as a costume for fans to purchase in the store, you’re not alone, many people point out to the debut of Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak was featured on the Icon Radio Station before their debut in February. As well as Fortnite YouTube creator LazarBeam.
So it very well could be a developing crossover with a minor hint in the form of a 50+ minute radio station.
Will it be controversial if they do bring him in? Absolutely, he’s not exactly a politically correct singer and many parents certainly won’t want their kids listening to his music, as it’s oftentimes not very family friendly.
Ok, who are we kidding, it’s never family-friendly.
So Eminem seems like the next likely addition to the game via the Icon Series but only time will tell.
