LeBron James returning to Fortnite with several other older outfits

Fortnite seems to be bringing back NBA icon LeBron James to the game.

The world of Fortnite caters to many people of many ages and varying backgrounds. This is even more true since the game added a competitive version of the game for players to participate in. The eSports element really helped the game cater to a larger audience. So the next logical step to was to bring in sports stars, like LeBron James.

Rumors have it that Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes may be making his way to the game sooner rather than later, but it seems like James may be coming back to the game very soon.

According to Fortnite News, the game has added multiple item shop sections to the API. An API is basically the way developers create things in programs. So they’re adding new things to the API in advance of bringing back items. They’ve also removed several APIs according to Fortnite News.

The new items coming in include “King James” (aka LeBron James), “Marvel”, “FNcS”, “Pgod’s Locker”, and “Summer Favourites”. The APIs leaving include “Sparkles_QT’s Locker”, “Sommerset’s Locker”, “Naruto”, “KAWS”, “Balenciaga”, “Spider-Man Zero”, “Uncharted” and “Rainbow Royale”.

Fortnite should branch out beyond LeBron James and Patrick Mahomes

The game is doing well with basketball, mostly due to the NBA having a fairly impressive eSports scene of their own. They should expand past them though. While I’d love to see Luka Doncic or Jarrett Allen in the game, I think the MLB’s Mike Trout, the UFC’s Izrael Adesanya, and even a few pro wrestlers like Roman Reigns or Kenny Omega would make for some great names.

You could even make them their own new pack to release in Season 4. Though, that may be a pipe dream at the moment.
