Fortnite reveals Mecha Weapons Team just before Collision

Fortnite fans will get their chance to get the Mecha Weapons Team before Collision.

Fortnite’s live event is less than 24 hours away as of this writing. That means Collision is right around the corner and fans are gearing up. Not only are they prepping their Xboxs, PlayStations, Nintendo Switches, and all the other various ports of the game, but they’re also gearing up their capture card for this one-time-only experience.

To help get fans into the mood, if you will, Fortnite made the Mecha Weapons Team available for purchase just hours before the Chapter 3, Season 2 live event. Shockingly, despite showcasing four characters, there are actually only two; ‘Mecha Strike Defender’ and ‘Mecha Strike Navigator’.

Defender and Navigator each have multiple costumes and designs, which is what fans saw in the original image work for the characters. They’re now available ahead of the event and will be around to purchase come Chapter 3, Season 3.

What do you need to know for Fortnite: Collision?

The Fortnite event, “Collision” is set to start on Saturday, June 4, at 4 PM ET. Once you log in and start playing the event, you will not be able to replay it. Epic Games is advising you to record the game if you can, and relive it that way because once you’re done, you’re done.

Once the day of the event rolls around, log in starting at 8 AM ET, to receive an exclusive loading screen and lobby track, which will not be available after the event ends. Those two items are free to players who just log into the game on the day of the event.

The game will then go dark after you play the event out, and you won’t have access to anything new until June 5, when the game will begin Chapter 3, Season 3. There are rumors circling about the next season, but until the game launches, they remain just that.
