4 things you can do on the Fortnite Island after Star Wars Day
By Chad Porto
May the 4th came and went and Star Wars fans can still celebrate.
Fortnite is always getting new things added to the game, and the newest addition is the long-rumored and highly leaked content from the world of Star Wars. Fans of Disney’s biggest space opera will want to hop on over to the Fortnite island because the game went all out this year.
For those new to the concept of May the 4th, it’s the unofficial/official Star Wars holiday. Disney and its partner companies do things every year to honor and celebrate the fans.
Why the fourth of May, however? Well, because it sounds like “may the force be with you.” Sure, it’s not an accurate one-to-one, but “May the Fourth” and “May the Force” sound close enough. So what can Fortnite and Star Wars fans expect on the Fortnite island this year?
May the Fourth brings Star Wars to Fortnite
Lightsabers
The lightsabers for Obi-Wan Kenobi, Kylo Ren, Luke Skywalker, and Mace Windu can be yours in-game. The items are legendary weapon items and occupy a slot in your load-out. They are highly effective close-range weaponry and great for destroying buildings and built structures.
E-11 Blaster Rifle
Like the lightsabers, the E-11 Blaster Rifle is another legendary weapon, and unlike other rifles and guns in the game, this weapon has no need to reload. The ammo is infinite, but it does have a cool-down period if you use it for too long.
Star Wars Quests
New quests can be completed on the island until May 17. You’ll get a load of new XP but you’ll only get a new Emeprial banner as a reward.
Purchasable content
All past Star Wars characters will return to the game for fans to purchase. Skins of Imperial Stormtrooper, Kylo Ren, Zorii Bliss, Finn, Rey, Sith Trooper, Boba Fett, Fennec Shand, and Krrsantan will all be available for purchase.
