All the new, returning and vaulted weapons for Chapter 3, Season 2
By Chad Porto
Fans of Fortnite are wondering what made it into and didn’t make it into Chapter 3, Season 2.
Fortnite has launched its second season of Chapter 3 recently and with it came a lot of changes. Not only are characters from specific towns now in hiding, but the towns themselves are now war-torn areas on the map.
Gone is so much of what fans knew of Fortnite and instead comes a whole host of wild, battle-heavy mechanics. Like sprinting, climbing, and overshields. All designed to help the player prolong the fight.
Yet, that’s not all, as new weapons, old weapons, and current weapons were recycled in and out of the game to help set the tone for the new Seven vs. Imagined Order conflict. So what weapons and items were added, remain, and taken out?
What Fortnite weapons and items remain in Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2?
The New
The Combat SMG is the first up to the bat. It’s what you expect, a short-range, full-auto weapon that’s good for dusting stragglers off of the tank as you roll through the town-wrecking shop. It’s big issue is its kickback, so be ready.
The Striker Burst Rifle is another weapon new to the game, with it being both a mid and long-range rifle. It has minimal recoil and is a nice step up from the rifles of old.
Unvaulted weapons
- Thermal Scoped Assault Rifle
Adjusted, is now semi-auto, fires faster, reduced damage, increased recoil
- Drum Shotgun
Adjusted: It now fires slower, but with slightly higher damage.
- Revolver
Adjusted: Faster to fire but does less damage
- Remote Explosives
Adjusted: does more damage to vehicles (namely tanks)
- Thermal Scoped Revolver
Exotic weapon
- Storm Scout Sniper Rifle
Exotic weapon
- Shockwave Grenades
Returning weapons
- Ranger Assault Rifle
- Striker Pump Shotgun
- Auto Shotgun
- Sidearm Pistol
- Stinger SMG
- Hunter Bolt-Action Sniper
- Shadow Tracker (Exotic weapon)
- Marksman Six Shooter (Exotic weapon)
- The Dub (Exotic weapon)

Vaulted
- Spider-Man Web-Shooters
Thank goodness these are gone. They made the game so unbalanced at times and gave the players who used them a distinct advantage.
- Flare Gun
I loved the Flare Gun, it doubled as an asset to locate and then eliminate players near you.
- Machine Pistol
A fun weapon only recently introduced, gone too soon
- Heavy Shotgun
Another fun weapon, new to the game, and gone to soon.
- Sticky Grenade
Vaulted to make way for the Remote Explosives, so it makes sense.
