Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 has only one update left, so where is Naruto?

According dataminer iFireMonkey, Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 only has one more major update before we shift over to the new Season. What does it mean for the rest of Season 8, and when is the new Fortnite season? Here’s what we know about the upcoming updates, like the Naruto Fortnite release date and the new Star Wars crossover.

When is the new Fortnite season?

Fortnite seasons run for about 10 weeks. Chapter 2 Season 8 is expected to conclude early December, likely on December 5 or 6 ahead of that Tuesday. There’s still some unanswered questions about upcoming crossovers.

Normally, Epic Games plays their cards close to their chest. In a rare turn, we have not one, but two high profile crossovers announced ahead of their release.

Naruto Fortnite Release Date

When is the Naruto skin coming out in Fortnite? Early leaks pointed to Chapter 2 Season 8, but weeks have passed. When v18.40 was leaked to be the final update, it wasn’t looking too good for the crossover. The Naruto collab now has a release date, November 16. It coincides with Epic’s usual Tuesday update schedule.

In Japan, Fortnite x Naruto ads have been popping up around subways and in stores. It seems that this Naruto crossover is going to be special, as Epic Games has a live premiere for the trailer set up on the Fortnite Youtube channel.

The Book of Boba Fett

We also know that the Book of Boba Fett tie-in will happen December 24. The new Star Wars spin-off will begin airing later that week on December 29. It’s not known if the crossover will just have Boba Fett to go with Season 5’s The Mandalorian, or if he’s bringing his buddy Fennec Shand. It’d be great to have a Jango Fett style, too.

I hope that we get a proper harvesting tool for The Mandalorian. He didn’t get any tools when he was in the Chapter 2 Season 5 Battle Pass, even though he is shown using at least two distinct melee weapons in the show.

This does decidedly put the new Star Wars crossover in Chapter 2 Season 9. It’s unlikely we’re going directly into Chapter 3 just yet, as Chapter 1 ended with Season X. We’re getting there, though.
