Fortnite’s just come off a big DC crossover, with The Suicide Squad’s Bloodsport featured in the shop and Superman coming soon to the Battle Pass as a secret skin. On the other side, Marvel is still in the game, bringing a heavy hitter fan favorite to Fortnite: Gamora, of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Fortnite: Gamora comes to the Island, Star-Lord returns
Set for release on the Item Shop on August 18, Gamora is another Marvel skin that’s a natural fit for Fortnite. She’s an unstoppable warrior, and there’s a reason her moniker is The Deadliest Woman in the Galaxy.

Gamora’s set will have the Cloak Back Bling, Godslayer Pickaxe and the Godslayer Glideboard. That’s expected, but what’s more of a surprise is the apparent return of Star-Lord. According to Epic Games, Gamora comes to the Item Shop August 14, Star-Lord in tow.
If you want to score Gamora early, you can win pieces of her set by competing in the Gamora Cup. You’ll have to score as many points as possible in 10 Duos matches.
Star-Lord is a much requested return, as he hasn’t been in the Item Shop since his release back in May 2019. Word of a possible Star-Lord return was revealed earlier this week in an Item Shop asset leak by FireMonkey.

Both Gamora and Star-Lord are based on various iterations of the characters, drawing elements from the comics and movies alike. Gamora and her gear are more related to her comic versions, but Star-Lord takes heavier influence from the films down to The Milano serving as his Glider.
With two more Guardians on the Island, we can almost assemble a squad of the original lineup from the first Guardians of the Galaxy film. All we need now is Drax the Destroyer.
