Summer may be ending, but we’ve still got lots of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7 left. As the Invasion rages, we’ve gotten tons of new wacky and destructive weapons. Which ones are worth keeping? Which do you leave on the ground? Here’s the Forever Fortnite Weapon Tier List for August 2021.

This season has some unprecedented differences between competitive and casual playlists, so weapons banned in comp will have an asterisk.

Forever Fortnite Weapon Tier List August 2021

S-Tier

  • Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle
  • Storm Scout
  • Rail Gun*
  • Plasma Cannon*
  • Recon Scanner

As always, range is king in Fortnite. This season, we’ve got tons of great long range and sniper options. There are also great anti-build options like the Rail Gun and Plasma Cannon. The Recon Scanner is also surprisingly powerful, as knowing where your enemies are coming from or hiding out can help you get the drop on them.

A-Tier

  • Assault Rifle
  • Burst Assault Rifle
  • Rapid Fire SMG
  • Tactical Shotgun
  • Pump Shotgun

A-Tier this month has all the classics. The Burst Assault Rifle is back, and is another great long range option. With a bigger focus on range this season, short range weapons can give you a huge advantage at closer distances if your enemies miss with their sniper or Rail Gun. The Rapid Fire SMG has some truly absurd DPS, and you can take your pick of shotguns.

B-Tier

  • Suppressed Submachine Gun
  • Submachine Gun
  • Kymera Ray Gun
  • Pulse Rifle
  • Grabi-tron*

These weapons are solid performers that you won’t be embarrassed to have. The other SMG variants are still great, especially at high rarity. The Pulse Rifle occupying a weird range, just in-between the regular Assault Rifle and the Burst. Grabi-tron is slow, but fun and goofy. You can even grab things and use them as a shield!

C-Tier

  • Heavy Assault Rifle
  • Hand Cannon
  • Night Hawk
  • Marksman Six Shooter
  • Lever Action Shotgun

These weapons are outclassed by other weapons. The much maligned Heavy AR doesn’t have the accuracy at range nor the firepower up-close, so it doesn’t have much utility. The Revolver/Hand Cannon variants are extremely punishing to use, so I don’t recommend them to other even though they’re my personal favorites.

They can be great in other loot pools, but this Season is one dominated by better long range options.
