You’ll need to know how to tame a boar in Fortnite for one of Chapter 2 Season 6’s quests. Luckily, taming a boar is simple if you know where to look. Here’s how to tame a boar in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6.

How to Tame a Boar in Fortnite

Wildlife in Fortnite can be tamed by presenting a food offering. Like wolves, boars can be tamed to fight along your side. To tame a boar, throw some meat down. The boar will go to eat. While it’s eating, walk up to it and interact with the boar before it’s finished eating. The boar will have some hearts over it, and will now follow you and attack enemies for you.

You can also easily approach boars if you have a Hunter’s Cloak active, eliminating the need for the initial meat bait.

You can usually find wolves around the homestead and farming outposts scattered throughout the island. They’ll typically be kept in pens outside, and there will usually be more than one.

This gives you an easy (albeit morbid) opportunity to hunt a boar, and then immediately use its meat to tame the other boar. The game doesn’t keep track of what kinds of meat you use, so any meat will serve, even from another boar.

You can also take that first boar’s item drops, craft a Hunter’s Cloak, and then freely approach the other boars while it’s active. Just be careful of getting attacked while you’re crafting.

Boars that follow you will automatically attack nearby enemies. This is useful as a sort of radar, letting you have some alert for enemies approaching behind you. They have their own health bars, so they can’t take too much punishment before falling.

Likewise, keep an eye out for boars that appear in areas where they don’t usually, as they’ll most likely have an enemy player behind them.
