Fortnite Battle Royale: Why you should drop Dusty Divot
By Ben Sundock
The second coming of Moisty Mire located nearly in the dead center of the map is Dusty Divot. Evolving significantly since the start of season four, this is a nice location for you Fortnite Battle Royale players to drop.
Just north of Salty Springs and west of Retail Row is the sometimes hectic Dusty. Now overgrown with trees and small bodies of water, this area is the lowest point on the Fortnite Island.
It is a location that has changed significantly in the last few months, making it a fun place to drop for those of you who like a change of pace. If you are looking for a quieter, more central drop, consider landing here.
Why it is good to drop Dusty Divot
Being one of the more lowkey named locations on the map, Dusty is a good place to go for players who don’t like long-range engagements. The congested area has nearly as many trees as Wailing Woods.
Two warehouses on the outskirts of the indention remain from the fabled Dusty Depot bringing back plenty of memories for players who have been playing the BR since it first came out.
In the named location, there is a central scientific warehouse-like structure with a giant tree in the middle. There are several outskirt buildings and a couple towers in the corners which will provide a solid amount of loot. Plus, there are a solid amount of shield mushrooms spread out in the wooded area.

Like I said before, this is a quiet place to drop and not many players will venture into the middle of the location when jumping out of the Battle Bus.
Why it is bad to drop Dusty Divot
Dusty is not the place to go if you are looking for high kill games or material other than wood. While there is some metal to be gathered from the walls of the compound and some trucks scattered through the middle, wood is plentiful.
While landing in the main part of Dusty can be a good thing, getting out is very dangerous. It doesn’t matter what side you come up, you will be completely exposed to players coming out of Salty, Retail, or moving from the east and north.
Make sure to have plenty of materials and be ready for a fight upon going up the steep slopes on each side. Now that the jump rocks are gone, it is even more difficult to get out.
Where do the chests spawn?
For the most part, chests spawn across the excavation site in the middle of the Divot. There is usually a chest in the half-destroyed warehouse, but for the most part, the warehouses are not the place to go for good loot.
Overall grade for Dusty Divot
Dusty is a very average place to go especially off of spawn. There is plenty of cover and some shield mushrooms to pick up, but for the most part, this isn’t the place to go.
I would only recommend landing here in solos or maybe in duos but never in squads. There is a challenge to get kills in Dusty, but overall, steer clear of this death trap.
