Fortnite celebrated its first birthday on July 24th with a set of three birthday challenges available to all players. On Aug. 7th, those challenges will cease to exist, so get them cleaned up today or lose out on the prizes.

Sure, the prizes aren’t great, but the Fortnite birthday challenges are very simple and there’s a chance that if you’ve played at all over the last two weeks, you’ve already gotten two of the three completed.

The birthday challenges are simple. Play 14 matches, deal 1000 damage to opponents, and dance in front of 10 birthday cakes located throughout the map. If you haven’t completed these yet, it’s likely because you’re short a birthday cake or two.

Have no fear, we’re here to help you close up these challenges today and get your sweet new cake backpack. Here are the birthday cake locations:

The prizes for the three birthday challenges are as follows:

  • Play in 14 matches – 5000xp
  • Deal 1000 damage to opponents – cupcake sticker
  • Dance in front of 10 birthday cakes – Birthday spray paint mural

Completing all three challenges will net you a brand new birthday cake backpack, which, aside from the free 5000 xp, is the only thing worth playing for here. That and the obsessive feeling that you have to get all of the challenges completed to feel good about yourself.

If by any chance you have not completed the first and second birthday challenges listed above then it’s likely that you just haven’t been playing that often. If you’re here at the last minute for guidance, have no fear. 14 matches and 1000 damage can be completed in no time at all. Run Tilted Tower drops until you get these done. It’ll take about 20 minutes.

These birthday challenges were freebies. Chances are you have your week 4 challenges cleaned up already (aside from the flaming hoops) and are waiting for the week 5 challenges to drop anyway so there’s no excuse not to hit the last few birthday cakes.

After all, Fortnite only turns one-year-old once!
