Fortnite Battle Royale: The Drum Gun should be an inventory staple

facebooktwitterreddit

The new Drum Gun introduced to Fortnite Battle Royale just a few weeks ago has been one of the most highly used guns by many players due to its high rate of fire and lack of recoil. If you haven’t started using this weapon, you are really missing out.

If you are one of the few people who have yet to use the Drum Gun, consider trying it out the next to you see it. You can find the SMG variant mainly from floor loot and comes in uncommon and rare forms.

It is no wonder this gun has become so popular amongst gamers as it does significant damage to structures (22 or 23 per bullet) and has a magazine size of 50, which is great for laying down cover fire and scaring opponents who are well fortified.

The Drum Gun has so quickly become one of my favorite inventory items that I usually will pick it up over a blue pump shotgun. As I have said many times before, I don’t like the slow rate of fire on the pump enough to use it every game.

The Drum Gun has steered me further away from using the pump because when in a close quarter fight with someone who has this weapon, it won’t even be close. The pump might be able to get off two shots before the Drum Gun gets off between 15 and 20.

The margin of error is less with this gun since you can hold down the fire button and spray an opponent while still missing some shots here and there. That is not the case with the heavy or pump shotguns.

The Drum is better than any other SMG and takes medium bullets, meaning it can deal higher damage than the light bullets. So, if you haven’t already made the switch the Thompson, go ahead and try it out. I all but guarantee you will really like it.

Some of the people I play with will substitute an assault rifle for the Drum because of its multi-purpose abilities. It may not be the best long-range gun, but it can help you somewhat.

I would highly recommend using this weapon. You won’t be disappointed!
