The Fortnite celebrity pro-am tournament took place tonight and to the surprise of no one, the world’s most popular player, Ninja, took home the victory royale. Here’s how it all went down.

A total of three million dollars in prize money was on the line in tonight’s Fortnite pro-am tournament and the million dollar victory royale prize was Ninja and Marshmello’s to lose. They pulled it off in spectacular fashion, edging out CourageJD and Kenneth Faried in the final match.

Watching the early matches, it was clear that every player brought their a-games to the event and the prize money seemed like it might not have ended up in the hands of the world’s most popular Fortnite streamer.

The games kicked off with a solo warm up match and it was all action right from the start. Gotaga and Ninja both landed at Lucky Landing and got into a battle for the ages. Despite getting boogie bombed, Gotaga clipped Ninja with the recently nerfed pump shotgun.

Gotaga and Myth were around each other all game but Myth was knocked out by Muselk, who was on a tear. The storm closed in to a matter of feet in a fight between NoahJ and Kinstaar and NoahJ made a bounce pad play for the win in the solo warm-up match.

Before duos started, EDM artist Dillon Francis went over his strategy going into the game.

The next match was the Duo warm-up. Ninja and Marshmello built high and took out opponents with some teamwork. Many of the duos were camping through the second match up in a desperate attempt to stay out of the action until it was absolutely necessary.

Vikkstar and Ty Dolla Sign stayed in the same brick 1×1 hut for 80% of the match, while Gotaga and Demetrious Johnson worked their way through the other duos, which led them to Ninja and Marshmello once again. The final six ended up on top of a mountain and things got wild.

Ninja ended up in a two-on-one situation in which he almost pulled off an incredible win but Kinstaar, with 28 hp remaining, got the better of him with a rocket/shotgun combination to take the win for himself and Sean O’Malley in the second warm up match.

The third and final game began and the three million dollar total prize pool was on the line. Despite their earlier promise, Dillon Francis and Jericho were eliminated early on. Myth and Paul George as well as Ninja and Marshmello started the game well, picking up a few eliminations respectively.

Kinstaar was the favorite after doing well in the first two warm-ups but he was knocked out by CourageJD and Kenneth Faried, leaving the field wide open. Ninja and Marshmello went right back to the hill they died on in the previous match, which looked like a smart move as the storm kept closing in on them.

The match came down to Kenneth Faried and Courage, Ninja and Marshmello and Kitty Plays. As good as everyone was all tournament, Ninja showed out to close this one and he and Marshmello won the game and the first-place million dollar prize for the charity of their choosing.

Congratulations to Ninja and Marshmello on their golden pickaxes and a well-deserved 2018 Fortnite pro-am tournament victory.
