Fortnite Battle Royale: No not the Shopping Cart!

Early Monday, Fortnite Battle Royale received patch v4.4 which removed items, added items and a new location, and tweaked the overall game. But, one item that has been temporarily removed that I am upset about is the Shopping Cart. Here’s why I’m unhappy.

As far as we know, this could be a temporary change to the game but for an undisclosed amount of time, the Shopping Cart will not be in Battle Royale. This is pretty upsetting to me and several Fornite content creators as the only “vehicle” in the game has been a huge hit since its release last week.

Using the cart in duos or in squads has been so much fun and life-saving at times. There have been several times since it’s addition that I have had to use it to escape the closing storm or get away from an opponent or squad.

The official game Twitter tweeted out the following shortly after the patch went live:

I am a bit surprised by this news as I didn’t see any problem whatsoever with the cart. However, I do understand how issues could arise with a device like the Cart. With all players traveling mainly by foot throughout the base game, adding this new element has to be difficult on the system.

I am hoping that unlike the original bounce pad, the Shopping Cart is not something that was in the game for a short period of time and then removed. The bounce pad  – now referred to as the Bouncer – took a five-month hiatus from the game to be revamped.

Since its reintroduction, it has quickly become an incredibly useful utility that has little to no bugs.

I felt like the Shopping Cart was one of the first non-weapons to be integrated into the world that didn’t see poor feedback or have significant problems. It should definitely be kept in the game and in my opinion, be the only vehicle in Fortnite.

There should never be a way to fly through the air unless it’s with the Launch Pad or the Bounce Pad, and there should be no ground vehicles as that would totally change the game.

Let’s hope this problem will be straightened out soon and we will see the Shopping Cart back in action shortly.
