The Shockwave Hammer was removed from Fortnite due to a bug issue and won’t be returning.

I hope you enjoyed the Shockwave Hammer and all of its joyous fun because the now iconic weapon and traversal item has been removed from the game once again. This time a bug has rendered this, and Slurp Juice has vaulted, with neither item expected back. According to Fortnite News, both items were expected to be removed in the upcoming v24.00 update.

The Shockwave Hammer was disabled once before to middling reactions. many didn’t like the decision, as the hammer had become quite a staple for the season, but others rejoiced, as they hated the item and the difficulty increase it brought to the game.

With Fortnite’s Chapter 4, Season 2 launching on March 10, 2023, it remains unlikely that we’ll ever get our hands on the item ever again. So if you didn’t get a chance to play with it one last time prior to the update on Tuesday, you likely won’t ever get to.

The Shockwave Hammer was a great addition to Chapter 4, Season 1

Fortnite needed a strong Chapter 4 debut and the additions of the Shockwave Hammer and the Ex-Calibre Rifle did a lot to entice players to stick around for a long-time. For most of the time that Season 1 has been up and running, Fortnite saw an increase in players. The season was a hit from the jump, helping end months of hemorrhaging among the fandom.

Failed concepts and terrible events kept fans from enjoying the game but the first season of Chapter 4 did a lot to redeem the developers and the game in the eyes of the fans. The return wasn’t a huge wave, but it was pretty substantial all things considered.

The Shockwave Hammer was part of that, changing up how players interacted with the game, and how they got around.
