What is the best loadout for players that want to snipe in Fortnite

One of the best things about Fortnite is the ability to play the game in any sort of way you’d like. You can be a close-ranged guy, you could be a stealthy player, a sniper, or a lunatic that outfits a truck and goes hunting with a cowcatcher. However you want to play, there is a loadout best suited for you.

If you’re someone who isn’t interested in eating shotgun blasts to the face, may I recommend the sniper approach? The best way to run with a sniper setup is to get complimentary weapons and items and do what we call a rim run. Essentially you ride the edge of the storm and only move in when the storm does. This will keep you away from most players as you work through the island and will limit how much interaction you have.

As a sniper, the last thing you want to be is seen.

What should Fortnite players bring with them as a sniper?

Ideally, you’d want at least two, preferably three weapons. You’re going to want a sniper, obviously. The Boom Sniper is the best item for this, as it not only causes 85 damage if you make contact, but it’s also just a chaotic weapon that makes players unsure of where to run. Your second weapon is a shotgun. You may want to keep yourself away from other players, but that’s not always possible.

You’ll want to make sure you have a way to defend yourself. If you prefer a third weapon, the Cobra DMR is a great mid-range weapon. However, if you don’t want a third weapon, here are the other items you should carry.

A med spray is a must if you’re playing the edge of the map, as you may get swallowed by the storm. You’ll want to be able to heal on the run. The second item is some sort of shield item. Be it the Chug Splash or the Shield Potion. Stay away from the Shield Kegs, however, as they’ll give away your position. You want to stick with the Shield Potion if you can.

Lastly, you should either have Shockwave Grenades or the new Grapple Glider for a quick escape. Your ally as a sniper is hiding and takin advantage of enemies. The last thing you want is to get stuck in a shootout with someone. Running away is a good idea.
