Fortnite is big enough to re-launch interest in some old games.

Fortnite is a big enough brand that just by associating with it can reignite interest in past franchises just by partnering with them. Granted, this hasn’t happened all that often, but we’d imagine that if Fortnite were to give a bump or rub to an older, less active franchise, they would end up igniting some interest in those games.

So we’re going to go and list three franchises we’d love to see get the Fortnite rub if you will. These are games that could either serve the purpose of reigniting interest in a single character or in a collection of characters.

The only prerequisite is that they have to have been popular, Triple-A caliber games at one point in their history, and not just cult classics that later created a community of players who love their game.

Three dormant franchises who could get a rub from Fortnite

Earthworm Jim

The game has found ways of making the likes of Mecha Morty work, so why not a worm in a giant muscle suit? Earthworm Jim fits the vibe of Fortnite so much, that to not include him is borderline criminal. Plus, if he were brought into the game, there’s a good chance we get a new Earthworm Jim game at some point, and who wouldn’t want that?

Battle Toads

Fans of a certain age will gladly tell you about all the animals that dominated the airwaves and video games of the 80s and 90s. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Street Sharks, Beast Wars, and of course Battle Toads. The trio of toads would do well to be brought into Fortnite, but only if their arch nemesis Dark Queen is included. We know this game got a recent release in 2020 but it was a tad underwhelming in its reception.

Dark Stalkers

As far as fighting games go, no game has the storyline or uniqueness in their characters the way Dark Stalkers does. Not only are all the characters primed for a Fortnite crossover, but any opportunity we can get to play as Morrigan again we should take. Even if it’s not in a proper Dark Stalkers game.

Next. 3 Street Fighter characters we hope join Fortnite eventually. dark
