There appears to be a Dragon Ball reference in Fortnite.

If you’re a fan of a certain age, your first anime may have been either Ronin Warriors, Sailor Moon, or more likely, Dragon Ball Z. When Cartoon Network brought Dragon Ball Z and Gundam Wing to the states in the mid-to-late 90s, it opened the door for a lot of fans to get into the genre for the first time ever. They weren’t the first animes to come to the states, shows like Speed Racer had been around for a long time prior.

Yet, Dragon Ball Z and Gundam Wing really elevated the interest in the genre.

So it’s not at all surprising that the Dragon Ball franchise continues to have a huge imprint on pop culture even today. That’s why it’s certainly possible that Fortnite has a reference to an iconic location from the anime and manga in the game.

Some fans believe that a house out in the east bay of the island resembles Kame House, a location in the universe where Master Roshi and a few others live and train.

I’m not sold on the Kame House theory

With Fortnite’s ability to create a variety of structures, I have to call shenanigans on this one. While the island looks enough like the Kame House island, that’s where the similarities end. Kame House is pink, and is flat on the island, while the alleged homage to it is on stilts, red, and is far bigger.

It’s one thing to see a refrigerator in the desert and assume it’s an allusion to Indiana Jones, but there are a few houses out in the bay, and there’s no real indication that this is a reference to Kame House.

It may be used as a point of interest once the rumored Dragon Ball crossover starts, but it’s just as likely it’s convenient as opposed to purposeful.
