Will Fortnite introduce planes again in Chapter 3, Season 2?

Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2 introduced fans to the idea of an all-out war between the Imagined Order and The Seven, complete with designated zones for each group, battlefields filled with debris and artillery damage, and of course tanks and battle buses to help you fulfill your combat desires.

The tanks have been a huge hit and Battle Buses are, well they’re there. A lot of this was shown off in the trailer for Chapter 3, Season 2. One of the things that got shown off in the same trailer, however, was the use of planes.

Now planes aren’t new to Fortnite, has been a big component in 2020 for season five. Yet, the idea of them being reintroduced for this conflict-riddled chapter sure seems like the right idea. Yet, will they come in? Who knows, there’s no real talk of them popping back up, but there are at least three reasons why they make sense.

Three reasons planes make sense in Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2

1. It fits the motif

The idea of the season is an all-out war between The Seven and The Imagined Order, putting in some warplanes to dog fight above The Island would be a perfect and fitting way to expand the mayhem the season has to offer.

2. The airships have cannons for a reason

It almost seems redundant to have the cannons on the airships. Sure you can shoot at people with them, and even shoot yourself off into the distance, but those are pretty weak reasons. Now, as an anti-air defense against combat planes? That works.

3. It gives the Battle Buses more to do

The Battle Buses suck in Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode. Sure they’re stronger than most other cars and faster than the tank, but when it meets a tank, the speed won’t matter. So the only reason to have Battle Buses would be for their adaptability. If you can turn a Battle Bus into a flight-capable vehicle on top of everything else, it certainly would expand the number of people wanting to use them.
