Fortnite had a surprising showing at Super Bowl LVI with one its most iconic characters introducing the big game. If you thought it was the guy from Fortnite delivering that great introduction, you’d be right.

The guy from Fortnite introduces the Super Bowl

You may not have recognized him without his helmet, but the guy from Fortnite was indeed Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The former WWE Superstar is best known for portraying

The Foundation

in Fortnite.

The Rock’s involvement in Fortnite may be his most high profile project yet. He’s been in some movies, but the jump into Fortnite may help launch his entertainment beyond his former WWE Superstardom.

The Foundation first appeared in the Zero Point Crisis story cinematic. Fans speculated that The Foundation was played by The Rock, as the character’s design had similarities to The Rock’s own tattoos. His voice sounded familiar, too.

I’m excited to see what Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has in store for us in future projects. The guy from Fortnite may very well be the next Hollywood action star. He’s one to keep an eye out for.

Some Fortnite personalities aren’t too thrilled with this development, however. The other guy from Fortnite, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, expressed some disappointment at missing the phone call to get on the Super Bowl.

If he managed to take the call, Ninja may not have lost his rank. It seems like there can be only one guy from Fortnite, and Ninja’s time is up.

Having The Foundation deliver the introduction for the biggest sporting event of the year just speaks to the game’s popularity and pop culture power.

I hope we see a Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Icon Series skin, or even a “The guy from Fortnite” skin in the near future.
