Fortnite: Is The Foundation voiced by The Rock?
By Andrew Lin
When Chapter 2 Season 6 dropped, I saw a lot of people talk about how similar The Foundation’s armor was to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s chest tattoo. I thought it was just some wild speculation, but there may actually be some merit to this.
Fortnite: Is The Foundation voiced by The Rock?
Shortly after the launch of C2S6, The Rock posted this incredibly cryptic video to his Instagram:
Multiple worlds? DNA? What does this all mean? He ends the video saying that he’s been working to strengthen new force called The Foundation.
To my ears, I can’t really hear The Rock in The Foundation’s voice lines, but a lot of players do.
The Foundation is the latest member of The Seven to be introduced in Fortnite. He arrives in the story cinematic for Chapter 2 Season 6, where he and Agent Jones team up to contain the Zero Point.
In the Zero Crisis Finale event, The Foundation contains the Zero Point but ends up being sealed inside it. Agent Jones promises to find a way to get him out.
The Foundation will no doubt be an incredibly important character, and having a big name like The Rock voice him would fit Epic Games’s push for more ambitious story telling.
Taking a look at The Foundation’s design, you can seem some similarities between him and The Rock.
"Could it be him..? The tattoo profile, the name… Dwayne on Instagram also said The Foundation on march 16th… from r/FortNiteBR"
Both are incredibly muscular, but the key similarity is the patch of silver on The Foundation’s suit. It starts and ends exactly where The Rock’s signature tattoos, complete with the circle in the right place.
The Rock was a WWE Superstar before he was an actor, and The Foundation’s entrance reminds of a wrestler’s entrance taking the ring.
I wouldn’t have believed it before, but since learning that The Russo Brothers of Avengers fame directed the C2S6 trailer, I can believe anything now.
