Season 11 of Fortnite is less than a week away from launch. Epic has revealed that Season 10 will be ending with another live event scheduled for Sunday, October 13th at 2 PM EDT.

Season 10 in Fortnite’s Battle Royale finally has an end date, Sunday, October 13 at 2 PM EDT. Recently, a rather large countdown timer has appeared over the rocket housed in Dusty Depot indicating the end of Season 10. In addition to the timer over Dusty, TV screens all across the island have changed from their typical static screen to the same countdown timer ticking away.

Epic doesn’t want any of us to forget to tune into the spectacular event. Past live events in the game have never been at the transition of one season to another. Based on the timing of this countdown, that certainly seems to be the case this season.

OG Fortnite players are familiar with the countdown clock. Back in season four, the first live countdown event ended with a rocket launched out of the mountain northwest of Snobby Shores. The rocket launch was impressive and left a crack in the sky with rifts scattered across the island.

The big difference between that event and the one presumably occurring next Sunday is that the season four launch did not end season four. The season lasted another week or so before season five began. This time, Epic seems to be planning a live event to usher in season 11 of the popular Battle Royale game.

In the latest patch notes, Epic announced a one week extension of Season 10 which correlates with the countdown clocks seen across the island. This additional week will be giving us overtime challenges which are set to begin on Tuesday, October 8th.

These challenges will be called “Out of Time” and will offer new objectives to be completed. The rewards for completion will include XP, cosmetics for current Battle Pass skins, and a commemorative loading screen. Thanks to @iFireMonkey here are the leaked objectives:

Fortnite End of Season 10 Live Event Leaks

Fortnite players…proceed with caution as these leaks may spoil the live event planned by Fortnite next Sunday, October 13. You have been warned!

As with every update in Fortnite, data miners like @iFireMonkey spend hours digging through code to find any little nugget to share with all of us. The upcoming live event has left many clues in the code that have been leaked.

At the beginning of the live event, it appears that players will load onto a final Battle Bus titled “The End”. Data miners believe that the live event will be viewed from this perspective. The rocket, currently in Dusty Depot, will launch. As the rocket takes off, audio tapes of the Visitor will begin to play. That script is as follows courtesy of @iFireMoney:

"Activate the beacon precisely the moment this timer reaches nothing. The Zero Point must be contained once more. If they are correct, it will be the end. I speculate that no one calculated the formation of the Island, that inter-dimensional matter collisions would resolve rather than push. Now that I witness it first hand, it’s obvious that pinching alone made it inevitable. The(unintelligible) Theorem was a success! I…us…you arrived outside the loop at the exact moment of expansion. This effectively paused the singularity, giving us time to create the devices needed to synchronize the junction. What I didn’t factor was that the only way to trigger the device was from within the loop. Thus, this hasty and primitive recording, and why now you… I find myself looped. What the seven of us are attempting is very risky. I suspect they are not the only ones watching. But it must be done or we lose the bridge forever. When I hear this again will it help me remember? Or once looped will I be just as muted as the others? No matter. It seems the lengthy precautions worked."

Again, according to leakers, the players will be sucked into Zero Point (the rift at Loot Lake) while the audio tapes are being played. From this point, we are left to our own imagination. Many speculate that players will be come out of the rift onto a completely new Battle Royale island. All of these files have been tightly encrypted so data miners have not been able to give us any indication of how this all ends.

Everything in Season 10 has been pointing towards a new map for Season 11. We have earned variations of past favorite skins in the Battle Pass. In addition, Fortnite brought back old POI’s from various seasons throughout their 10 season run thus far. Leakers have also found names of POI’s that have never been seen in-game before, and many speculate these may be the Season 11 named locations.

Popular leaker @Lucas7Yoshi found possible POI names in the v10.30 update. Here is what he found in the files.

Considering the recently found POI name files, the rocket sitting at Dusty Depot, the countdown clocks ticking away to launch this coming Sunday, which Epic Games has dubbed “The End”, all signs point to a new Battle Royale map. If this has all been a trick, or we have misread the clues everywhere, there will be millions of Fortnite fans very disappointed next week. I can assure you that I will be one of them.
