We all know the importance of high-quality sound when playing Fortnite. If you don’t have $100 to spend on a headset, we have an answer for you.

When you’re playing Fortnite, it’s important to be able to hear everything going on around you. The shots being fired, the steps being made, the building going on – if you can’t hear, you can’t win.

Don’t believe me? Fire up the game and mute your television or PC. If you manage to win, color us here at Forever Fornite EXTREMELY impressed.

So you need high quality audio. Plus, you need to be able to communicate with your teammates. We all remember the mid-2000’s, when online gaming was just starting and it sounded like walkies talkies in a tin can… in a blender.

Those days are long gone. So if you’re still dealing with static in your audio – you’re using the wrong headset. You need Turtle Beach in your life.

Turtle Beach was kind enough to send me a PlayStation 4 model of the Recon 70 and I’ve had a few days to play around with it.

I’m happy to report that it’s a great headset.

To be honest, I was a little skeptical at first. With a price point of $40 I wondered just how good the sound quality could be. After all, I’ve spent plenty of cash on headsets over the years. $25 here, $30 there – and they all end up getting replaced.

The Turtle Beach Recon 70 isn’t going anywhere.

Comfort is always the big thing for me. There’s nothing worse than having a headache after a half hour. Or (and maybe this is only a problem for me with my giant head LOL) my ears will hurt because the ear padding isn’t soft enough.

I haven’t had those issues with the Recon 70. Probably because the ear cushions are wrapped in synthetic letter – which help improve bass and noise isolation.

The headset itself is very lightweight – you won’t get sweaty or anything wearing it. At my max, I played for about two hours straight. No aches, no sweat, no nothing (just the sweet feeling of victory).

Honestly, for the price point – $39.99 – this headset is a steal. I really enjoyed using it (Fortnite, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered and Madden 19 were the three games I used it with). The sound quality was great – both from my microphone and from the speakers – and it was extremely comfortable.

You can pre-order yours at GameStop now. The Turtle Beach Recon 70 releases for the PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on May 1.
